Topic: Differential Diagnosis of Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Dysarthria

Journal Club is offered for .2 ASHA CEUs

Cost: $15 for member, $25 for nonmembers

Participants will have one month to read the assigned article and can join an optional Zoom meeting to connect with colleagues and discuss the paper. Participants wishing to receive ASHA CEUs for this event must fill out the Assessment of Learning Form.  If you do not wish to earn ASHA CEUs for participation, the assessment form does not need to be completed.  However, VSHA requests that you take a moment to complete the Course Evaluation Form to provide us with feedback about your experience with our first Journal Club event.  Responses from course evaluations will remain anonymous.

Learning outcomes: 

  • As a result of this course, participants will be able to define auditory-motor speech features associated with dysarthria 

  • As a result of this course, participants will be able to define auditory-motor speech features associated with childhood apraxia of speech

  • As a result of this course, participants will be able to define overlapping auditory-motor speech features associated with both dysarthria and childhood apraxia of speech

  • As a result of this course, participants will understand how to utilize the ProCAD checklist as a means to facilitate differential diagnosis of CAS and dysarthria
